Your Profile:
As a structural engineer you already have gained 5 years of corresponding professional experience in planning and/or execution of reinforced and pre-stressed concrete construction works. As a graduated civil engineer you will ideally be experienced in rehabilitation and in construction of new bridges according to international standards.

We expect you to be skilled in English (reading and writing), to bring with you dedication for a new job, a strong team spirit and ability of communication. This mission abroad requests also the ability to live in tropical countries and the willingness to pass on your know-how to our African staff. It is also an advantage, if you are skilled in foreign languages, f. ex. French, Spanish or
Portuguese, or are willing to learn Portuguese on a very short notice.

The Senior Bridge Engineer is expected to be permanently on station on the site for the wholeduration of the construction period.
Qualifications and skills.

– University degree in Civil Engineering;

– Computer literacy (MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD) would be an asset;

– Excellent command in English (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
General professional experience.

– Preferably 15 years, but minimum of 10 years experience is required;

– International experience.

– Experience of construction on major motorway and bridges construction and rehabilitation projects

Specific professional experience.

– Preferably 10 years, but minimum of 7 years experience in supervision of road infrastructure projects.

– Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar major bridges construction or rehabilitation projects as well as proven experience with FIDIC Conditions of Contract and experience in at least 2 projects of supervision of concrete bridge construction with length more than 300 meters implemented under FIDIC conditions of Contract or equivalent

Qualifications and Skills

–         Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering

–         Certificate of Chartered Engineer or equivalent for work in Serbia would
be an asset

–         Post-Graduation qualification or relevant specialization degree in the
field of advanced motorway engineering will be treated as advantage

General Professional Experience

–         Minimum 10 years, preferably 15 years of experience on motorway and
bridged construction and rehabilitation projects

Specific Professional Experience

–         Minimum 5 years, preferably 8 years of supervision experience in similar
bridge construction or rehabilitation projects covering at least one, but
ideally, all of the following:

• Design coordination and review/approval of drawings or
• Scheduling and planning or
• Preparation of technical specifications

–         Experience in FIDIC contracts gained in one to three bridge construction
or rehabilitation projects.

–         Experience in leading teams in the public or private sector and/or in
donor funded projects in one to three bridge construction or rehabilitation projects
of similar complexity gained in EU Member States, Candidate Countries or
potential Candidate Countries will be considered as an advantage.

They are looking for the following:

–         Minimum 15 years, preferably 20 years of experience on motorway and
bridge construction and rehabilitation projects

Specific Professional Experience

–         Experience as Chief Resident Engineer in the public or private sector
and/or in donor funded projects in one to three road construction or
rehabilitation projects of similar complexity. In addition, experience in
leading teams in the public or private sector or in donor funded projects
gained in EU Member States, Candidate Countries or potential Candidate
Countries will be considered as an advantage.

–         Minimum 5 years, preferably 8 years of experience on supervision of
similar road construction or rehabilitation projects.

–         Experience in FIDIC contracts gained in one to three similar road
construction or rehabilitation projects.

For this position my client is looking for the following:

Area of Specialisation

Civil Engineering—Structural Engineering with experience in design and supervision of construction of bridges, culverts and other structures.

Special Skills and Knowledge, but not limited to

Coordination and liaison with Government/Employer, bridge and hydraulic structure design, retaining wall design, seismic retrofitting, design review, bridge condition assessment and maintenance.
