Geological Degree

support review of Contractor`s method statements, reports and drawings on geological / geotechnical issues (e.g. tunnelling, foundations, slope support etc.)

advise on any unforeseen geological situation and risks

coordinate with the design Engineers on appropriate procedures and technical measures required

advise on geological / geotechnical investigations required, supervise the investigations and interpretation of the results

They expect well-founded expertise and a strong character profile:

geological degree

at least 5 years professional experience with background in hydropower / dams structures

AutoCad knowledge would be an additional asset

cultural sensitivity

readiness to live at remote location for extended period of time

fluency in written and spoken English

The purpose of this project is to establish a solid waste management system within Turkey, in accordance with the Turkish Legislation and the EU Acquits, with a view to reducing environmental pollution and increasing reuse and recycling of solid waste, specifically, to establish safe final disposal for solid wastes and optimization of the collection of solid waste by using all means for reducing the quantity of waste to be land-filled.

Qualification and Skills:

– University degree of civil, environmental or mechanical engineering. In case of lacking formal/relevant university degree 20 years of professional experience is required in the relevant field.

– Good command of spoken and written English.

General Professional Expereince

– Preferably 15 years, minimum 10 years, professional working experience required.

Specific Professional Experience

– Experience in institutional capacity building project(s) for solid waste management companies, institutions or departments.

– Preferably 5 years, minimum 3 years of experience as a Team Leader/Project Manager in supervision of an environmental infrastructure project required.

– Experience in PRAG procedures,

– Experience in supervision of sanitary landfill project according to FIDIC conditions of contract is an asset.

– Experience in design of solid waste management project is an asset.

The candidate will require to have a university degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant disciplines required.

Presently they are looking for the right candidate being the Team Leader.

The project is based in Turkey. It shall last some 48 months.

Scope of the project is:

. Leak detection study

. Design and preparation of tender documents for construction of water and sewer network rehabilitation of approximately 57 kilometres of water supply pipes and 30 kilometres of sewer pipes and supervision of these constructions

. Supervision of the Design and Build Construction of the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) and retrofitting of existing WWTP

The requirements for the Team Leader are:

The TL shall be in charge of the total management of the project., including, but not limited to, coordination of experts so as to ensure that the inputs of experts are available at the time they are required, allocation of tasks with the team, liaison with the counterparts, financial management and reporting and other tasks as required.

The expert should have the below qualification:

Qualifications and skills

. University degree in civil, environmental or mechanical engineering or equivalent

. Fluency in English spoken and written

. Computer skills in Office applications

. General professional experience

. Preferably 15 years professional working experience relevant to this contract, but a minimum of 10 years required

. Specific professional experience

. Experience in institutional capacity building project(s) for water utility companies/institutions/departments, etc

. Experience in international contract procedures preferably PRAG procedures/FIDIC conditions of contract as a Team Leader

. Experience in supervision of at least one water/ wastewater project according to FIDIC conditions of contract is an asset

. Experience in design of environmental infrastructure project (s) is an asset
