Resident Engineer

A client of ours is urgently seeking a Resident Engineer to supervise an on-going road construction projects in Africa.

My client has an office and transit house for the RE when they are reporting to the Roads Authority every 3-4 weeks. The house is also used for visiting our client staff (Project Director and Claims Expert) when in the area. It is about a 13-hr drive from the city in the south west of the country.

Client’s (Ethiopian Roads Authority) requirements are as follows:

A minimum of BSc Degree in Civil Engineering and at least Ten years experience in relation to road design &/or construction projects

Six years as Project Manager or Resident Engineer on road construction projects of which at least four years experience on double surface treatment road construction projects or two years experience on asphalt concrete road construction projects

At least one project experience as Highway Engineer/Team Leader on road design projects

Experience in use of Computer Aided Design and Draughting

The project is locally funded with a large local contractor under FIOIC Conditions of Contract, construction is to OBST standard, accommodation is provided on-site at consultant’s camp and a land Cruiser transport is provided through the works contract.

The project is expected to rub for a further 37 man months.
