We are currently dealing with a client who has recently won a proposal for a water related project and are looking for an Urban and Regional Planner. The urban and regional planner will be responsible for developing the urban WSS sector strategy and road map. The planner should have an engineering background and substantial knowledge of sector issues related to planning, core WSS service delivery and asset management, institutional development, financial management, development of service delivery options including public-private partnerships, and legal and administrative frameworks. The planner is responsible for delivering output 1 and will: (i) review the database on WSS services in towns and cities across the country; (ii) conduct a thorough analysis of demography, economy, and development in the region and urban centres: (iii) determine the impact on existing infrastructure and the region; (iv) review plans of regional water companies for infrastructure improvement; (v) review and collate the roles and responsibilities of institutions that regulate or manage urban growth and services, and identify a suitable institutional and regulatory framework for regulating growth in the region; and (vi) develop the sector strategy, road map, and the investment plan for developing WSS services in the country. Along with the team leader, the planner will conduct workshops to disseminate findings and collate stakeholder views for discussion with the government and to finalize the strategy and road map.
General Requirements:
Must have a degree in Engineering
Good computer skills (MS office)
A minimum of 10 years overall experience and at least 7 years of experience in the water sector
International experience is a must
Very good command of the English language (written and spoken), Knowledge of the Georgian language can be considered as an advantage but not necessary
Regional experience will also be looked at as an advantage
