A well established German consultancy is currently looking for a high profile candidate to join their team in Nigeria on a large Power Plant project.
The candidate should have worked as a Project Manager or Senior Mechanical Engineer for similar projects. Management Skills and team leader experiences are also required. It is esential that the candidate is flexible and open minded, able to guide engineers whom work performance is low, with humour but also consequent to achieve the goals at the end of the day, be team play.
Computer skills are required: Windows Office, MS-Project, Internet etc.
Laguages: English is a must, German and arabic is not a requirement but could work to an advantage.
Backgraound:
Our client’s team will consist of 14 Expatriates at the moment they are 7. 5 new are appointed. Our client’s team is working with a local Partner (about 65 Nigerian Engineers). They are supervising as a Design and Management Consultant 10 Power Station Projects, more than 70 Transmission line and Substation Projects, 200 Distribution Projects, 8 Gas Pipeline Projects. Each project has an EPC Contractors and Project Consultant. They are assisting their Client to manage this project as a kind of TOP-Consultant.
The position:
Senior Mechanical Engineer for Gas Turbine Power Plants and CCPP (Combined Cycle PP) Expert in Gas Turbines (GE, Siemens, Alstom), balance of plant equipment for GT PP and/or CCPP, Gas pipelines and Gas Stations for PP, Experiences in the following and Work tasks: Being available to the Client in order to assist and advice them as an independent Consultant in all aspects of GT and/or CC power stations. Preparation of Specifications (if required) Assistance in evaluation of tender documents and claim documents of contractors and project consultants.
Analysing of monthly progress reports of the EPC and PC, preparation of monthly reporting to the Client and Ministry.
Supervision of the concerned project consultants (PC) and contractors EPC.
Participation and executing of progress meetings.
Supervision of Project time schedules, Analysing and Manage PC and EPCs
Occasional Site inspection/monitoring.
Monitoring of project progress.
Vetting of invoices of the EPC and PCs.
Participation in Factory Acceptance Tests – FATs – for mechanical equipment and GTs (if required).
Supervision of General Electric and EPCs technical team during commissioning. Supervision of Plant.
Performance Test of GT PP and CCPP, Review of Performance test procedures and Analysing of Test.
Results in regard to the existing Contracts even commercial consequences, (bonus and LDs). Supervision of GT PP Commissioning (if required).
