Job Summery
The Manager Quality, EHS & Performance Improvement is responsible for all Quality, EHS and BPI related activities in the Business Unit
Business Role
The Manager of Quality, EHS and Performance Improvement manages his team in order to provide professional support to the operational management and process owners concerning quality, environment, health & safety (QEHS) management, process improvement, Quality Assurance and Control. He facilitates the comprehension for superior business processes and requirements and QEHS within the organization.
Main Duties & Responsabilities
GENERAL: The Manager of Quality&EHS and Process Improvement:
- behaves according to ALSTOM code of ethics and values
- collaborates with the related parties to Quality, EHS, Business Process Improvement and Information Technology within PS3
- is member of the Business Unit Management Team
- fulfils the goals and objectives of the Business Unit as agreed with line manager
- ensures that all resources of his team are managed efficiently and according to the company policy and the agreed objectives
- ensures appropriate development and training for the subordinates and lead yearly employee performance appraisals
- ensures appropriate information exchange with the subordinates
- plans, deploys, and controls the department budget
Business Unit Processes and Management System
- ensures that an integrated management system compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 is established and maintained
- ensures the integration of business, quality, environmental, health and safety directives issued by Power Service Sector/Region
- ensures that targets set by the Business Unit and the Power Service Region are supported by the management system
- ensures that the business unit processes are mapped and continuously improved based on feedback from business activities
- ensures the planning, coordination and execution of EHS-, internal- and external quality audits as required
- ensures the required level of training to the employees in matters related to Quality, EHS, Management System and Performance Improvement
- ensures the monthly and yearly reporting to the superior functions in the Business Unit and the Power Service Region
Business Process Improvement
- implement and drive the Improvement process
- support the management team in the deployment, execution, assessment and review of Business Performance improvement progress compared with the business plan
- represent belts on the Management Team
- ensure together with Finance that charters show the financial benefits
- ensure that all of the improvement projects follow the appropriate methodology
- Select Project Teams in conjunction with Black Belts, Managers and Sponsors
- Identify opportunities where Projects can be re-applied
- Manage the Performance Improvement recognition system
- Ensure required reporting to Business Unit Management, and superior Power Service Region- and Sector Functions
Quality Assurance and Control
- ensures together with Technical Services Dept. and Supply Chain Dept. the execution of Supplier Assessments and Supplier Qualifications and if required in coordination with the related SEC’s (Service Execution Center)
- provides expert support regarding Quality Control in the project execution phases (specification for purchase order, check of order and manufacturing documentation, kick-off-meetings, expediting, inspection & testing, follow-up of actions, supplier documentation)
- provides support to Logistics for Inspections & Tests of ordered material
