Up to US$12K/month + Expat Benefits, Based in Afghanistan

We are working with a US Consultancy who is looking to fill a position on a large highway project in the Middle East:

The Project aims to upgrade a 233 kilometre section of the Ring Road. The civil works include :

i) reconstructing 70km and rehabilitating 20 km of road section from

ii) reconstructing 143 km of road section

The work will be carried out under a single design – and- build civil works contract by a Contractor selected through international competitive bidding (ICB). The Project also includes a community outreach program to be designed and implemented by the  civil works Contractor.

Job Responsibilities:

Preparation, checking, processing and issuance of variation orders, claims and their disposal etc.

Contract management under FIDIC conditions of contract.

Qualifications & Skills:

Degree level qualification or equivalent in Civil Engineering.

A minimum of 12 years post graduate experience in procurement/contract management of international development assistance funded road projects executed under FIDIC conditions of contract.

International experience will be considered an advantage.

Excellent English language skills.

Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications.

Previous experience with a Construction Management Consultancy will be considered an advantage.

General terms of employment with our client as follows:

Basic salary in USD per month

Mobilization – Demobilization economy class airfare tickets to Place of origin

30 calendar days paid leave per year

Accommodation on the Project Site in a camp facility operated and secured by the Project Contractor for use by the Company personnel

Shared local Transportation as arranged by the Project Contractor for use by the Company personnel

Medical Insurance.
